PY Series Cone Crusher

The PY Series Cone Crusher is the standard secondary and tertiary crushing equipment for hard rock and mineral processing operations. Using an eccentrically rotating mantle within a concave bowl liner, the cone crusher compresses material through a gyrating crushing action that is particularly effective for medium-hard to very hard materials. The PY crusher features a spring overload protection system that automatically opens the discharge opening to pass uncrushable tramp metal, preventing machine damage. With adjustable discharge settings and multiple chamber profiles available, the cone crusher produces aggregate and grinding mill feed from 3mm to 60mm with excellent particle shape and uniform distribution.

Working Principle

The cone crusher consists of a fixed concave bowl liner and an eccentrically gyrating mantle. The mantle gyrates within the bowl, creating compressive crushing action as it approaches and retreats from the bowl liner. Material enters the upper crushing chamber and is compressed between mantle and bowl liner. As the mantle gyrates, crushed material moves downward and exits through the discharge opening. The spring system provides overload protection by allowing the mantle to drop away from the bowl when uncrushable material enters.

The grinding process is precisely controlled by the integrated classification system, which separates qualified fine powder from coarse particles. Coarse particles fall back to the grinding chamber for regrinding, while fine powder is conveyed by airflow to the cyclone collector and then to the finished product silo. This closed-circuit design ensures consistent product quality and high grinding efficiency.
