An Indonesian ceramic and paper manufacturer in Belitung Island needed a kaolin grinding facility to process locally mined kaolin ore. The target product was 1250 mesh kaolin powder for paper coating and premium ceramic body.

Equipment Selection

The HGM100L ultrafine grinding mill was selected for its ability to produce fine kaolin powder while preserving whiteness. A wet beneficiation system was installed upstream to remove iron and titanium impurities, followed by a filter press, rotary dryer, and the HGM grinding circuit.

Quality Results

Finished kaolin powder achieved 1250 mesh with 94% whiteness after beneficiation. The grinding process did not introduce iron contamination due to the HGM's ceramic-lined grinding chamber option. The client's paper coating trials showed excellent coverage and smoothness, comparable to imported Brazilian kaolin.
