YGM Series High-Pressure Grinding Mill

The YGM Series High-Pressure Grinding Mill enhances the traditional Raymond mill design with a high-pressure spring suspension system that increases grinding roller pressure by approximately 1.2 times compared to conventional Raymond mills. This results in improved grinding efficiency, finer product output (80 to 425 mesh), and greater throughput. The YGM mill is particularly effective for processing medium-hardness non-metallic minerals and is widely deployed in limestone powder production for desulfurization, calcite processing for paint and coating, and barite grinding for drilling fluid weighting agents. Its balanced performance, moderate investment cost, and proven reliability make it a popular choice for established mineral processors and new ventures alike.

Working Principle

The YGM mill's grinding rollers are pressed against the grinding ring by a high-pressure spring assembly, generating greater grinding force than gravity-loaded Raymond mills. Material enters through the side feed opening and is distributed onto the lower grinding ring. Rollers rotating around the ring crush and grind the material through combined pressure and friction. A blower system carries ground powder upward to a built-in analyzer (whizzer classifier), where a rotating impeller separates particles by size. Coarse particles fall back for regrinding, while fine powder passes through to a cyclone collector. The spring-loaded roller design provides automatic compensation for roller wear, maintaining consistent grinding pressure throughout the component lifecycle.

The grinding process is precisely controlled by the integrated classification system, which separates qualified fine powder from coarse particles. Coarse particles fall back to the grinding chamber for regrinding, while fine powder is conveyed by airflow to the cyclone collector and then to the finished product silo. This closed-circuit design ensures consistent product quality and high grinding efficiency.

Performance & Efficiency

The YGM Series High-Pressure Grinding Mill is designed for maximum grinding efficiency and energy savings. The optimized grinding chamber geometry, combined with high-precision classification, ensures that energy is used effectively for particle size reduction rather than wasted on over-grinding or heat generation. Compared to conventional milling systems, our equipment typically achieves 20-30% lower power consumption per ton of finished powder.

Key performance metrics include stable fineness control with deviation less than 5%, low noise levels below 75 dB at 1 meter distance, and dust emissions below 20 mg/m3 when equipped with our pulse bag filter system. These performance characteristics make our equipment suitable for even the most demanding industrial environments and stringent environmental regulations.

Installation & Commissioning

Proper installation is critical for optimal equipment performance and longevity. Our experienced engineers provide on-site installation and commissioning services, including equipment positioning, alignment, electrical connection, piping installation, and system integration. The typical installation timeline ranges from 15 to 45 days depending on equipment model and production line complexity.

During commissioning, we conduct comprehensive performance tests including no-load test, load test, and production trial runs. We verify all performance parameters meet design specifications, calibrate control systems, train your operators on proper operation and maintenance procedures, and deliver a complete commissioning report with all test data.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between YGM high-pressure mill and standard Raymond mill?

The YGM mill uses spring-loaded rollers that apply 20% greater grinding force, resulting in higher capacity, finer output, and better energy efficiency. The standard Raymond mill relies on gravity roller loading, producing coarser powder at lower throughput.

Is the YGM mill suitable for power plant desulfurization?

Yes. The YGM mill is widely used to produce 200-325 mesh limestone powder for flue gas desulfurization. Its spring-loaded design maintains consistent fineness, which is critical for desulfurization efficiency.

How does spring pressure affect performance?

Higher spring pressure increases grinding force, producing finer powder and higher capacity. However, excessive pressure accelerates roller and ring wear. Our engineers can adjust spring tension to optimize the fineness-wear balance for your specific material.
